A small, reliable, heavy-duty bonfire stand you'll want to take with you wherever you go.
Above all, the NORA Stove was made "for my own use."
So, it's only natural that if I were to consider purchasing a compact bonfire stand as a user today, I would undoubtedly choose this NORA Stove.
When I first made the prototype for the NORA Stove, which was probably around 2010, there were very few "bonfire stands for solo use" available, and almost no options.
Since there was nothing available, I had no choice but to make one myself. I started manufacturing it from there, made numerous prototypes, and after many updates, it has arrived at its current form.
What I wanted was a bonfire stand that was
Extremely durable
Quick to set up
Quick to produce high heat
Could use thick firewood
In short, I wanted a compact, solo-use bonfire stand that could serve as a "replacement for a gas/gasoline stove" and handle the main heat source.
First and foremost, it had to be "durable." This was an absolutely essential factor.
Many of the small bonfire stands available at the time had thin plates to reduce weight, and most of them would warp significantly from the heat.
What I wanted was a "bonfire stand that could replace a gas/gasoline stove," so such unreliable strength would be completely insufficient for it to serve as a main stove.
Therefore, the NORA Stove is built to be extremely durable.
The plate thickness is a minimum of 1.2mm, and the grate, which bears the most weight, uses 2.5mm thick stainless steel plate.
And instead of just using thick plates, bends are incorporated in various places to increase strength.
As a result, even if the stove body glows red hot, it remains completely stable.
Next, "easy to assemble."
In fact, the NORA Stove doesn't even require what could be called "assembly." It's almost fully set up by simply "opening" it with a snap. (Please refer to the assembly video for details.)
And you can start your bonfire the moment it's open.
Even the grate for placing pots is already set up just by opening the main body, so all you have to do is add firewood, start a fire, and place a pot or kettle to start cooking.
This ease of setup is extremely useful in dimly lit campsites or at dusk. When you want to start a fire as quickly as possible, the NORA Stove, which can be easily assembled even by feel, will be very helpful.
And of course, "heating power" is crucial.
The NORA Stove boasts extremely strong heating power while also being fuel-efficient, not consuming firewood unnecessarily.
The secret lies in the shape of the main body.
As you can see, it's triangular in shape.
And the center of the frame is bulged by bending.
This forces the flames generated by combustion to "concentrate in the center."
In other words, the flames have "nowhere else to go but the bottom of the pot," allowing for extremely efficient cooking without wasting heat.
Also, with the NORA Stove, you won't experience a drop in heat as air holes get clogged with ash while burning firewood. The bent frame ensures that air passages are always maintained, so the combustion efficiency remains constant no matter how much firewood is added.
You can achieve this much heat without secondary combustion.
The reason for the high heat is very simple: its "triangular shape" that narrows towards the top.
The generated flames are inevitably concentrated at the constricted opening at the top, so the flames, having nowhere else to escape, are forced to hit the bottom of the pot.
In other words, rather than being "high-powered," the NORA Stove might be better described as a "highly efficient" bonfire stand in the sense that it utilizes the generated flames and heat without letting them escape.
Of course, secondary combustion has other good aspects, such as the beauty of the flames. On the other hand, secondary combustion bonfire stands have the disadvantage that their structure can cause ash to clog, making it difficult to sustain secondary combustion.
It is common to all bonfire stands that the heat output drops instantly if the air passage is blocked. However, to solve this problem, the NORA Stove has its central part bent and bulged. This has two purposes: concentrating the flames and improving strength, and another important purpose:
Securing an air passage
This passage is not blocked even if ash or embers accumulate, so air inflow through this path is always ensured. As a result, the NORA Stove can maintain stable heat output no matter how much it burns.
Of course, high heat output is by no means the only important thing, but the NORA Stove is designed for
Quickly setting it up to boil water for ramen or coffee
is its main use, so high heat output is an indispensable feature.
The NORA Stove folds up very compactly, making it easy to carry and store.
The grate for placing pots also doubles as a handle.
Again, there's no need to specially set up the grate. It's already set just by opening the main body.
All you have to do is add firewood, start a fire, and place a pot or kettle to start cooking.
This NORA Stove is the culmination of over five years of trial and error, repeatedly making prototypes and improving them, packed with these features.
Please keep it in a corner of your bag or throw it in the trunk of your car.
The best days, filled with the excitement of having a bonfire, await you.
[Size] Refer to the diagram above
[Weight] Approximately 1.3kg
[Static load capacity] Approximately 15kg (Actual load capacity is over 20kg, but with that much weight, pots would become large and stability would worsen, so this value is set as the limit)
[Material] Stainless steel (SUS304)
