Fire tongs are one of those items that tend to be neglected. I think they represent the kind of tool you buy at a hardware store, lose, are forced to buy again, and then lose again.
But playing with fire is part of the fun of a bonfire, and I wanted to use fire tongs for that purpose that I could really feel attached to.
That's why I created these "Nora-basami" tongs.
They're made of 1.5mm thick stainless steel (SUS304).
Each part is joined with standard screws, so anyone can disassemble and maintain them with just a simple tool. (※Since a spring is used, always wear safety glasses when disassembling!)
And the biggest feature is that they are "telescopic."
The arms, fixed with screws, slide out, allowing you to extend them only when in use, making them incredibly convenient for storage and transport.
They also have a "lock mechanism" that prevents the body from opening when the arms are retracted.
So, when stored, they become just like a simple rod. This allows for comfortable use where you can easily put them in your pocket or apron, and then quickly extend them when needed.
Please cherish and use them for a long time.
[Details]

Weight: Approx. 280g
Length: Approx. 300mm (extended state)

[How to use Nora-basami]
1. Loosen the screws.
2. Slide the arm all the way out, then tighten the screws to fix it.
*When the arm is extended, the spring will cause it to open, so please be careful of it suddenly opening, which could lead to dropping or injury.
When storing:
1. Squeeze the main body to "close" it.
2. Loosen the screws.
3. Slide the arm to store it, then tighten the screws to fix it.
*The lock mechanism is activated by "closing" the main body and storing the arm. Please note that this lock will not function unless the main body is closed.
■ Please be very careful not to pinch your fingers, etc., in the interlocking part (base) of the main body.
■ If the screws for fixing the arm become too tight and won't loosen, move the arm back and forth (in the direction of loosening the screws) to loosen them.
■ To bring out the natural feel of the material, this product uses untreated iron with a black scale finish.
We hope you enjoy the rust that develops with use as part of its character, but if you wish to minimize rust, please apply rust-proofing yourself after receiving the product, as needed.
Also, as each product is handmade, there may be slight individual differences in scratches and press marks. We appreciate your understanding in advance.
